Just received some incredible news. The Full Sail site won Macromedia Site of the Day! Hell yeah. I'm really proud of the job and the team that helped bring it all together - bravo. It will be featured on the 19th and I'll be grabbing screenshots. Props to Jeff, Paul, Todd, Matt, Craig, Mark, Adam, Mac, Bruce, Kenny - and the rest of the Full Sail crew who took part in crafting this beautiful & functional site.

The best part of all is that the site is doing just what we set out to accomplish. Presenting a presence that represents the school as a leader in the field of teaching (and implementing) entertainment media (and grabbing some attention in the process is nice). Below is a quote from one of the placement reps at Full Sail:

I just wanted to let you and your team know that I have spoken to several people that said the new web site helped them make their decision, one whose words were "Your new web site is what finally clinched it for me"! Thank you all for an incredible site, I am still having fun exploring it! - Susan (Full Sail Placement Department)

I couldn't ask for a better quote or response.

Writing my last post made me think about another idea. I just wrote it down as well. How can I find more time in the day to act on some of these things? I found another idea that I actually wrote a 5 page paper about - and it is basically what iTunes is scratching the surface of now with their Music Store and "owned" mentality of things digital (intangible).

Some interesting words in WIRED magazine inspired (jolted, reminded) me to search for some old thoughts of mine that had been filed away. I actually have a folder in my file cabinet next to my desk here labeled Ideas. I'm big on thinking through things that haven't been thought of yet. I believe that comes from me always wanting to invent something - I just think that would be the greatest thing. To develop (build, think of, be a part of) something that solves a common problem or starts a new market or way of thinking (etc.). That is the definition (in my head) of invention.

So I'm reading through this article - and stop ... I pass over the words shared minds. I wrote a paper, in 99 I think, about some very similar thoughts. I have often had ideas that I thought hadn't been done yet and should be. Eventually I would see these things pop up and mentally check them off as, "ok, someone got to that 1st." Although, sometimes it would be a while before I saw someone solve the problem or build the product. So, I decided if I wasn't go to go after these things I would at least write them down. I would jot some sentences about certain things and at times I would write a quick paper (to be sure I was cataloging my thoughts and angles clearly at that time).

The crime here is that I never go look in that folder! Putting stuff in there is like locking it away and forgetting about it. Anyway... I decided to take a peek after reading those words. Sure enough, I had written a paper about conscious connectivity (or ambiguity). When everything is so connected that answering a question or making a decision by or for yourself (unassisted by any "live" data) became uncommon - because you are instantly wired into a greater consciousness - i.e. the web in the form of opinions, documents, interviews, stories, reports - at your fingertips (or better still at your brain cells) in a flash. You cross-reference everything using varying patterns & sources you know you "trust" or "agree with most of the time" - then you continue with an answer or a decision.

Crazy. For those who don't think there is much more to be excited or scared about in the future - look out. Read Ray Kurzweil while your at it. All in all I know there is so much more to be done out there and I will keep aspiring to be an inventor for that reason.

Shot a video yesterday with some folks from EAI. This video is going to kick off the AIGA Atlanta Chapter 15 year anniversary meeting on Wednesday. Once we have the final piece rendered out I'll swing it up here to view.
