Just wrote this to a friend and thought I'd spin it up here as an update on the construction plans.

I'm building a killer custom office area (because I'm always working). It's a raised (or lofted) platform about 3 ft off the ground to make it just about level with the giant bay of factory windows so you sit there will a great view of downtown ATL and can walk back and forth in front of the windows. It will have hardwood flooring, lights above and custom storage built underneath in the form of large pull out drawers that are being mounted in using garage door tracks! Mounts had to be strong to support the size. They are like 3 ft by 6 ft and will make for huge storage bins. I think that was my brightest ideas in the whole plan because it solves one of the problems in this space (hidden storage) and the new level creates a visual interest to the area.

Cleaning up some dust tonight and just looking through the hole in the wall. From what is now the back door you can see through the new opening and catch the furthest bay of windows and a killer view of downtown Atlanta. These are the dust tracks that Coop made as she explored the new space. Looks like she covered every inch in every possible direction.

A passageway has been forged. The two dwellings of the elders now lay as one. The kingdom will now see the sun... united as one.

Ok... they just cut a big opening in the wall. So, now you can get back and forth without heading out into the hallway to move all your junk back and forth. It sure created a nice dust cloud and white layer of stuff over everything. That will be the case for a while - living dirty in the dirty south. Most importantly I have a new front door!
